Delano Sookha

Delano studied audiovisual design and photography at the Gerrit Rietveld Art Academy in Amsterdam. After moving to London to attend the London International Film School, he first established himself in the early ’90s, directing music videos for artists such as Take That, Lenny Kravitz, Simply Red, T-Spoon and many other European artists. As well as art installations and short films, Delano has directed campaigns for Nike, Jimmy Choo, Gap, Zegna, Louis Vuitton, Heineken, Puma, Deutsche Bank, Paco Rabanne, Mercedes Benz and many more. His work has been nominated for, and awarded at the Cannes Lions, Art Director’s Club Netherlands (ADCN), Creative Belgium Awards (CBA), MTV VMAs, Viva Awards, Eurobest, Ciclope, The One Show, TMF Awards, and the EVMA. His 2021 short film The Colour of Spinach was selected for the Berlin Fashion Film Festival and the Buenos Aires Fashion Film Festival, and received additional selections and nominations at Shortcutz and the Sarajevo Fashion Film Festival. At the 2024 Creative Belgium Awards, his film The Road won Silver, following earlier shortlistings at Ciclope, Eurobest, and The One Show. In 2022 he had his first solo exhibition in Belgium, showing photographs and video installations at the Apex Gallery. 
In march 2023 he was part of a group show by Breedlijn Collective in Antwerp. Showing a selection of his photographic work. He founded MURMUR in 2022. Driven by a deep fascination with human behaviour, his protagonists often inhabit the edges of their own sanity, an ongoing exploration of what it means to be human, and the place where he believes the most compelling stories unfold.
