Declan McNelly
Declan McNelly is an American director specializing in long-form music documentaries that explore the cultural and historical impact of influential artists. His work focuses on immersive, archival-driven storytelling, often examining specific eras in an artist’s evolution.
He is currently directing LIVEDONUTS 2003/2005, a documentary on J Dilla. Upcoming projects include LIVEBROWN 1995/2000, LIVEREVOLUTION 1965/1966, and untitled films on Kanye West and the Grateful Dead.
His debut release, LIVEBROWN 1990/1994 (2026), is a 7-hour, 16-minute live documentary centered on Ween, marking the beginning of his ongoing “LIVE” series.
